Painting a sweet little shadow over paper flowers 😌 in the past I’d be pretty strict on myself to make the shadows in paper, but this time I wanted to try something new! I’ve been slowly incorporating more paint into my work for the past year or so and I’m loving the added texture and colour range I have available to me! We are MOVING! Ben and I finally made the decision to move closer to the film studios on the Gold Coast ☺️ Ben’s worked down there for 10 years now, and it’s time to get some of his day back from that M1 traffic. Peach has not been happy about her life getting packed up and has been veeerrryy sooky. 🌷 Keep blooming 🌷 daffodils represent new beginnings, they’re some of the first flowers to bloom after winter even if conditions aren’t optimal (think of them sprouting out from under literal SNOW). I love the idea that growth doesn’t wait for the perfect conditions, and it’s a nice reminder to 🌷 keep blooming 🌷 so I made this piece to represent that feeling ☺️. 2025! What a year 🥹✨
From seeing my work on billboards in my own city, to winning the CBCA New Illustrator Award (and being Notable for Picture Book of the Year!), this year felt really really special. I loved exploring new processes, making work I’m genuinely proud of, working with some huge clients, and having some of my best ever market days in Brisbane and Sydney. I finally get to show you the full Disney’s Zootopia 2 artwork I created for @Disney AUNZ ! This was one of the largest and most detailed pieces I’ve ever made, and seeing all four segments come together at the Brisbane screening was really special.
